I hope you are all well and enjoying this nice weather. As summer approaches, final plans are being made for summer camp and I wanted to let you know in case you have any questions.  We are confirmed for the week of July 26-August 1 at Camp Squanto.  We currently have 15 scouts registered to go and leaders who have committed their time for the week.  I had a long conversation with the camp leader to find out as much as possible to share with you.

It sounds like they have a fantastic week planned for our scouts. They have been working diligently on camp safety with the State, the local Board of Health and the CDC to make sure their plan is the safest possible for our scouts and leaders.  Temperature checks will be taken upon entering camp and there will be no coming and going by anyone during the week.  Hand sanitizer, masks and daily cleaning are all part of the plan.  They are operating under capacity in order to be able to maintain physical distancing.

Attached you will find the updated list of merit badges being offered. Your scouts can choose three badges to work on, one from each time slot. Our newest scouts have the option to participate in Flight to Eagle from
9-11am daily, where they can work on rank advancements.  They can also choose a merit badge from the 11am time slot to work on instead.  Scouts can work towards a swimming merit badge at the waterfront daily.  All scouts will be able to swim daily at least once, or twice if they participate in the early morning Polar Bear swim. Canoes and row boats will be available during swim time for the scouts to use. During scheduled activity time in the afternoons, all scouts will go to the shooting/archery ranges daily.  They will also be designing
tie-dyed t-shirts during the week, as a keepsake of their time at camp.

There will be one scout per tent only with exceptions made for our 1st time campers, if needed.  Meals will be served in our individual campsite and any dietary restrictions or allergy concerns can be met. Just let me know.  If there is any lightening, a safe relocation plan is in place.

Part C medical forms from last years camp will be accepted this year as long as your scout’s physical was dated February 2019 or later.

Details will follow on logistics of where we will meet and what drop off will look like before our virtual camp meeting on June 22nd.

You are still able to sign up if you would like to go or if you change your mind about going, get a refund until June 22nd.  Please take a look at the merit badges offered in the attachment and let me know your choices as soon as possible!

Thank you,

Mrs. Ritter
